Ride Description
For those seeking a mix of nature and adventure, with maybe a little eating and shopping, the Town Trail is a great choice. This 2.5-mile off-road trail ascends about 300 feet along the ride and starts from the base of Snow Summit Ski Resort. It can be a little tricky to find the trailhead, as it’s tucked just to the right of the main building of Snow Summit’s ticketing area. Just look for a white gate with a little wooden shed next to it, with a dirt trail leading behind the condos lining Snow Summits main parking lot. Hop on the Town Trail and get ready for an adventure that’ll tickle your taste buds too since it ends right above the lovely Big Bear Village. You can make a right and cruise down Fire Road 2N08 and then continue downhill on Nickerbocker Rd. to find the Village.
Alternatively if you want to keep your heart rate up and keep climbing you can turn left at Fire Road 2N08 and head uphill. The road gets steep and rocky, so take breaks to enjoy the higher views as you climb. From 2N08 you have access to a bevy of more fire roads and cross-country trails like the epic Skyline Trail at the top of the valley. Keep a look out for trail and road markers so you don’t get lost!
